Thailand is now operating two airports in the Bangkok area. Suvarnabhumi (Airport code BKK) opened on September 28, 2006 and, located in Samut Prakan Province, just outside of Bangkok. All international flights arrivals and departures and some domestic flights are operated from here.

Don Muang Airport (Airport Code DMK), the original International Airport was to be closed with the opening of Suvarnabhumi located on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Bangkok serves non-connecting flights of Thai Airways, all domestic flights of Nok Air and some domestic flights of Orient Thai (One-Two-Go).

Domestic flights are also easy and convenient, cutting down on journey time. Several domestic carriers service a majority of large provincial cities dotting generously across the country. Travel to neighboring countries is cheaper when booked within Thailand.

Train services connect Bangkok to all regions of the country at reasonable prices. A regular rail service also runs between Bangkok and Singapore via Malaysia. Long distance coaches, both air-conditioned and open-aired, connect all major cities.

At the local level, many transportation choices are offered: provincial buses, city buses, songthaews, tuk-tuks, rickshaws, boats, motorbike taxis, rental cars and motorbikes.
